The Advanced Energy Consortium (AEC) is accelerating the next wave of energy innovation. With over $70 million invested in R&D, 40+ patents, and a network of 400 researchers across 35 institutions, we are building breakthrough nanotechnologies from microsensors to smart materials that transform how energy is produced and protected. Our mission is to fast-track bold ideas into real-world solutions.

At AEC, we define 'Win' as strategically investing stakeholders' resources in top talent to expedite the availability of AEC technologies in the markets. Our goal is 'To develop disruptive nanotechnologies for transformational improvements in energy production and environmental protection.' A few examples of our collaborations: 
- AEC partnered with a member company, a large European Operator, to evaluate a potential to retrofit older oil & gas wells to harvest clean geothermal energy.
- AEC and a large Operator have tested AEC sensors in extreme conditions in Operator's offshore wells. 
- AEC and a large Operator are planning field tests of extended-release payload delivery in 2026.
- AEC performed a controlled hydraulic fracturing injection at a highly instrumented Devine Field Site, mapped the created fractures, and performed coring and excavation to confirm fracture extend at the meso-scale.
